Message of Solidarity to FMN on the Occasion of Its 2nd Congress

By Prof. Jose Maria Sison
Chairperson, International League of Peoples' Struggle
September 14, 2006

On behalf of the International League of Peoples' Struggle, I wish to convey to the leadership, chapters and general membership of Front Mahasiswa Nasional (FMN, National Student Front) warmest greetings of solidarity on the occasion of its Second Congress.

We admire and congratulate you for your achievements in upholding, defending and promoting the rights and interests of the Indonesian students and in arousing, organizing and mobilizing the student masses along the line of the Indonesian people's struggle for national liberation and democracy against foreign monopoly capitalism, domestic feudalism and bureaucratic capitalism.

We are proud of FMN as a participating organization of the ILPS. We are confident that you will accomplish all your objectives in holding the Second Congress, such as summing up your experience in the last two years, evaluating and learning from it, amending your constitution and electing a new national council to lead your organization.

We are deeply pleased that on September 21 you will be performing an act of solidarity in response to the call of the ILPS for the global day of action against extrajudicial killings in the Philippines. We appreciate your support for the Filipino people. The state terrorism that is being inflicted on them is connected to the semi-colonial and semi-feudal ruling system and the US-dictated policies of "free market globalization" and "global war on terror."

We hope that you will achieve the utmost success in your congress and that you will open the way for greater achievements in the years to come. We look forward to receiving your country report and campaign plan.

Long live Front Mahasiswa Indonesia!

Carry forward the struggle for national liberation and democracy!

Long live the people and students of Indonesia!
