Message of Solidarity
to Front Mahasiswa Nasional

By Prof. Jose Maria Sison
Chairperson, International Coordinating Committee
International League of Peoples' Struggle
May 18, 2007

The International League of Peoples' Struggle hereby conveys warmest greetings of solidarity to the Front Mahasiswa Nasional on the occasion of its fourth founding anniversary. We are proud of your being a member-organization of the ILPS and of your achievements from year to year.

We salute you and join you in the celebration. We congratulate you for all your successes in arousing, organizing and mobilizing the student masses in the struggle for their sectoral rights and interests and for the entire people's struggle for national liberation and democracy against the imperialist powers headed by the US and against the local reactionaries in Indonesia.

We assume that on this day you will renew your determination to carry forward the struggle of the students and the people for national and social liberation and that you will analyze the situation, sum up your experience, know your strengths and weaknesses and clarify the tasks for raising the fighting spirit and capabilities of your organization to a new and higher level.

To this day, the people of the world expect that the Indonesian people fight for and obtain justice for themselves and for all those who were victimized by the 1965-66 massacres which were instigated by the US, British and Dutch imperialists and carried out by the Suharto fascist military clique.

The Indonesian youth and people continue to suffer from the oppressive and exploitative conditions of a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society because the imperialists and the local reactionaries have used state power to suppress by brute force and deception the people's demands for national and social liberation.

We hope that you will continue to win greater achievements from year to year through the consolidation and expansion of your organization and through relentless struggles for your sectoral rights and interests as students and for the people's national and democratic rights against the foreign and local oppressors and exploiters.

Long live Front Mahasiswa Nasional!
Carry forward the patriotic and progressive cause of the Indonesian students and people!
Long live international solidarity!
