Prof. Sison and NDFP Negotiators Meet Former US Attorney Ramsey Clark

Prof. Jose Maria Sison, chairperson of the International League of Peoples' Struggle (ILPS), met former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark for more than two hours on 25 February 2005 in The Hague, The Netherlands.

He thanked the latter for his solidarity and support against the "terrorist" listing initiated by the US government since August 9, 2002. They discussed the implications and the consequences of the "terrorist" listing, the legal and physical threats posed by the US and the possible legal and political counter-measures.

They were able to exchange views on the situation in the US, Philippines and the world at large, the criminal impeachable acts of US President Bush, the US invasion and occupation of Iraq, the forthcoming March 19 and 20 global mass protests, the escalating US military intervention in the Philippines and the US sabotage of the GRP-NDFP peace negotiations through the "terrorist" listing.

Ramsey Clark assured Prof. Sison of his continuing support for him and for the Filipino people. Prof.ison was accompanied in the meeting by NDFP Negotiating Panel chairperson Luis Jalandoni, NDFP human rights committee chairman Fidel Agcaoili and NDFP committee on social and economic reforms chairperson Julie de Lima.
