Message to Kabataang maka-Bayan

Prof. Jose Maria Sison
Chairman, International Network for Philippine Studies (INPS)
General Consultant, International League of Peoples’ Struggle (ILPS)

30 November 2001

Militant greetings of solidarity to Kabataang maka-Bayan (KmB) on the occasion of its second founding anniversary on 30 November 2001 and its second congress on 2 December 2001!

I congratulate you for affiliating with Anakbayan. This fittingly highlights your successful efforts to educate, train, organize and mobilize Filipino and Filipino-American youth in Southern California and to support the Filipino youth and people in their struggle for national liberation and democracy in the motherland.

I admire your accomplishments in attending to specific concerns of welfare for the youth at the grassroots level while at the same time raising their level of political consciousness and militancy concerning issues in Southern California, the Philippines and the world at large.

I appreciate the KmB for being active in the broad popular movement against US imperialism and its puppets and for the cause of independence, democracy, social justice and peace. I praise you for opposing the US-directed imperialist globalization and wars of aggression such as the current one in Afghanistan.

Having been the chairman of the International Initiative Committee to form the International League of Peoples’ Struggle, I take this opportunity to thank you for sending a delegation and becoming a participating organization of ILPS. You have a high sense of international solidarity.

May you score more successes in your political and organizational work in order to further strengthen your own organization and develop cooperation with other organizations in the US and in the motherland.

Mabuhay kayo!
