Concept Outline of the Opening Remarks
By Dominee Hans Visser
Personage in the International DEFEND Committee
9 May 2009

Congratulations to the family Sison and their friends.

We are happy that there are no more juridical complications. We also heard about doubts of the American authorities about the list of terrorists. There are mistakes and errors.

First is the error in the inclusion of the name of Sison.

For this day, the tragic situation in the Philippines is most important. The violations of human rights, the violence and repression. We think of the victims.

In the 18th and 19th centuries such philosophers as William Paley, Adam Smith, Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mills thought about the system of capitalism.

Paley said: what is useful is always good. We do what gives profit. But Paley knew that we are weak and we commit sins. Therefore, he was careful.

Adam Smith was the creator of the free market. Everybody is happy if he is healthy and has no debts. Adam Smith had the opinion that the government is responsible for education and fights against corruption.

Bentham thought that everybody tries to realize his own interest. That makes everybody lucky. Rich people that are clever in egoism are punished.

Mill dreamed about capitalism that makes all members of society happy. But Mills gave warnings. He knew that egoism is heavy.

We suffer from the crisis in the system of capitalism. Rich people who busy only with their own interests make other people poor and jobless. They are the criminals of our time.

It is important to make a list of those criminals. The philosophers have said that capitalists who oppress the poor people are pigs and foolish.

Sison has analysed the system of capitalism. He knew the evil thoughts of the people who are promoting their own interests. I hope that he can continue his works.

GOOD LUCK

Hans Visser
