Message of Solidarity and Support
for the One Breath One Life Campaign
By Prof. Jose Maria Sison
Chairperson, International Coordinating Committee
International League of Peoples' Struggle
4 October 2006
On behalf of the International League of Peoples' Struggle, I wish to express warmest greetings of solidarity
to the organizers, musical performers and all other participants in the One Breath One Life Campaign. We hope
that the concerts, workshops, vigils and the culminating concert on October 28 will be successful.
We fully appreciate the noble purpose of your campaign, which is to spread awareness of the gross human
rights violations in the Philippines and to call for the defense of human rights and for a just and lasting peace
in the Philippines.
We commend your drive to raise moral support and funds for the work of the British Columbia Committee
for Human Rights in the Philippines and the fact-finding mission slated to go to the Philippines in November.
Your campaign deserves abundant support from the Filipino community and other people of various nationalities
in Canada.
We are confident that the combination of your noble purpose, the talents of the cultural performers from
Vancouver and Boston and your organizational skills will attract many participants. By being meaningful and
entertaining, music is a powerful way of arousing and drawing the hearts and minds of the people. ###
